Le French May Associated Project 2016

'Les Six' was launched in 1920 with the encouragement of the French intellectual Jean Cocteau and the Parisian critic Henri Collet. The six composers Auric, Durey, Honegger, Milhaud, Poulenc and Tailleferre who happened to be working in Montparnasse at the time were given the collective label of 'Les Six', which became an influential group of avant-garde French musicians during the period between the two world wars. Honegger, Milhaud and Poulenc eventually rose to be among the most important composers of the 20th century. This concert offers a representative programme of compositions of all members of 'Les Six', including pieces of trio for oboe, bassoon and piano, two pianos and vocal songs, performed by leading professional musicians of HK. We hope the audience can feel the amorous feelings of France.
